modus can deliver training courses in a number of areas, which can be tailored to your individual requirements, in house or at our own training premises. We can particularly offer training on core subjects such as working with attachment difficulties in placement, direct work with children and young people who have suffered trauma and working with challenging behaviours.
In addition, we have available a trainer who can deliver first aid/health and safety training which has been tailored to suit social care settings.
All our trainers are qualified and receive regular training themselves, in order to maintain our high standards.
All our NVQ courses are accredited and certified by City and Guilds.
modus can also offer the following course: -
City & Guilds Level 3 Safeguarding Children and Young People.
Level 3 Certificate Summary
Level 3 Certificate in Safeguarding Children and Young People is designed to meet the needs of the childcare sector and beyond, to promote awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding issues. It also emphasises the need for all workers, irrespective of their specific role within an organisation, to take responsibility for ensuring that concerns are acted upon in an appropriate manner.
Aims and Objectives:
It is aimed at those workers who have some responsibility for ensuring the safety and well being of the children and young people in their care. They could be working in the following roles:
- Nursery nurse
- Playworker
- Schools support staff
- Youth Worker
- After school club and play scheme worker
- Sports and leisure coach.
Individuals who already hold professional qualifications (e.g. nursing, youth work teaching and social work) can use this qualification to extend or update and demonstrate their understanding of safeguarding issues relevant to their particular setting, particularly if they have not specialised in child protection.
This qualification is intended to support good practice and understanding within organisations and settings. Learners may use this qualification as the basis for further study or progression into other qualifications.
Learners need to complete eight core units and one optional unit plus written assignments to complete the full award.
There is also a mini award where learners complete three units, but then if they so wish can go on to complete the full award.
The qualification has been approved by QCA and Skills for Care and Development for use in the children and young people’s workforce sector and therefore forms part of a recognised framework.
