The care team, which includes both a learning co-ordinator and sessional therapist, is a well integrated group who have established excellent working relationships. They are also ready to welcome and work alongside new members of the group, providing good levels of support and co-working.
All staff receive training in Good Order and Control and behaviour management, in addition to mandatory courses such as safeguarding, food hygiene, first aid and Health & Safety. As an accredited centre for the delivery of NVQ, all members of the care team will achieve NVQ level 3, if they do not already possess this qualification.
As with the young people who live with us, the care team are encouraged and supported to develop wide ranging skills which complement, but are not necessarily associated directly with child care, for example, counselling, outdoor education, computing skills. All staff have the opportunity to develop their own skills according to their personal development plan, which is established through an annual appraisal system. Staff also benefit from regular, documented supervision.
The team have regular team days, which address both the day to day business of running Cross Lee House and also afford the opportunity to undertake specific pieces of training where this is an identified need eg appropriate adult training, working with self harm.
If you are interested in career opportunities within modus and at Cross Lee House, please feel free to contact us to discuss whether we have any forthcoming vacancies.
