modus is an organisation whose aim is to provide high quality, co-ordinated child care services within small groups and families for looked after children and young people. At its heart is a belief that with desire, awareness, opportunity and support everyone will achieve their potential. This is shared throughout the organisation, where we recruit, train and support staff and families who commit themselves to provide environments in which young people safely achieve their potential and beyond.

We have a small children’s home – Cross Lee House – and a growing fostering service, which extends across the whole of the North West of England. modus was set up in 2002 and our services are now well established in the region across both our major service delivery areas.

There is a close connection between Cross Lee House and Fostering at modus, so that the two areas of operation enrich and enhance the other, with a positive impact on practice development.
